The writing and initial tracking for the “Decades” project happened in 2 locations. Algoma Studios and ITB Studios, both in Espanola. Recording began on a TASCAM 3340 4-track reel to reel with TAPCO C-12 and TAPCO 6000R analog mixers. We then acquired a TASCAM DA38 8-track digital machine and a Mackie mixer with APHEX pre-amps, Drawmer gates and dbx compressors. Jerry was fortunate to acquire some microphones from Bill Szymczyk at his Bayshore Recording facility in Miami and they included a pair of Sennheiser 441’s said to have been used on the Eagles Hotel California record, a pair of AKG 451’s and an AKG D112.
